Camp Kid is based on every sleep-away camp you have ever wanted to go to as a kid. Kids from Kindergarten - 5th grade are split by age into "cabins" and engage in a variety of activities, from Nerf Archery, to "cooking class," to games, we have something for every kid! All while building leadership skills and healthy friendships.
At Camp Kid we encourage leadership and stepping out of our comfort zone to try new things! By being given the opportunity to engage in different activities, kids reach beyond their limits and have a super fun time.
Camp Kid takes place July 8th - 11th, 2019. Parents drop off their kids at camp at 8:30AM and pick up is at 1:45PM. Extended care is available until 3PM for an extra $10 per day/per child.
Camp Kid is located in historic downtown Vista at:
New Community Church of Vista
165 Eucalyptus Ave.
Vista, CA 92083
The first day of Camp Kid is a wonderful, busy time. As parents and campers arrive they are greeted by their counselors and leaders with high fives and excited energy. As the kids are checked in by grade at the check-in table, they will receive a camp shirt, and a name lanyard, both of which they will wear all week. Make sure your child wears a light shirt or tank top, so they can put their camp shirt on over it for the first day.
Medical release forms (attached to the registration form) are also due on the first day to the check-in table, and they will review your child's information with you.
After check-in is complete, a counselor will walk your child to their "cabin" to meet all of their new friends for the week!
At Camp Kid, we take food seriously. Lunch and snack are included everyday, as well as water bottles are available at every activity station. We are a peanut-free facility. Lunch consists of an entree, fruit, veggie, and an organic popsicle for dessert. Snacks are made by each child during their Kid's "cooking class." Cooking class gives kids a chance to really play with their food, while learning how to make their own snack. The menu of lunch for the week will be sent out before the first day of camp.
Organic lollipops are also offered to the kids at certain activity stations.
If your child has special dietary restrictions, we encourage you to bring your child their own labeled lunch from home, and we can store it in our refrigerator for lunch time.
Thursday, the last day of camp, is Parent's Day! We invite all parents to sit in on the morning program starting at 8:45AM, to get a glimpse into what your kid has been experiencing!
The Sunday after Camp Kid is Camp Kid Sunday (10:30AM Gathering)! It's another chance for parents to join us as we celebrate a great week of camp, and let the congregation of New Community Church experience Camp Kid. Kids wear their camp shirts, and get to experience camp one more time for the summer.
Part of the fun of Camp Kid, is the cast of characters the kids meet everyday at camp. From a friendly Bigfoot who gives out lollipops and wears 80's sunglasses, "Mr. Fletcher" the bumbling camp owner, to the Ranger who tells spooky (but not too spooky) campfire stories, your kids will be excited to see these characters year after year.
The main items you will have to bring each day is your camp shirt and comfortable closed toe shoes. Your cabin leader will collect your name tag at the end of each day to prepare for the next day of camp. If medication or special food is required, please label it in a ziplock bag and turn it into the check-in table each day of camp.
We do require that you put on sunscreen at home before arriving, as activities will be inside and outside.
